OMF Orchestra

The OMF Orchestra is a group of 25 young musicians led by BBC Philharmonic cellist, Jess Schaefer, and volunteers from RNCM and University of Manchester, to rehearse as an orchestra ever Saturday mornings. Children in the orchestra are drawn from OMF's Learn to Play programme and range from beginner level to Grade 4, and are supported by Jess and university student-level musicians to develop their note-reading, ensemble playing and performance skills.

Running alongside the OMF Orchestra at the same time at Manchester Museum is our Parent Orchestra, which is attended by parents of children in our children's orchestra! Led by facilitator, Richard Kankondo, all musical abilities are welcome with instruments provided for parents to play on.

Children's Orchestra and Parent Orchestra rehearsals take place 11am-12pm every Saturday at Manchester Museum and are free to attend. If you're interested in joining one of our orchestras, or volunteering your help, send us a message at info@olympiasmusicfoundation.com
