Learn to Play

Free Music Lessons for Children aged 6-16

Olympias Music Foundation (OMF) is offering 40 places for children aged 6-16 their own instrument and free weekly instrumental lessons on violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet and saxophone from October 2021 onwards.

We are looking for enthusiastic children with supportive parents from South Manchester to participate in this exciting new music scheme. Lessons are available to any child on free school meals; who is an asylum seeker or refugee; or whose family receive universal credit or income support.

No previous musical experience is required. Interviews will be conducted with children and families on zoom in order to identify children who are enthusiastic about learning and with the necessary support from home to commit to learning to play a musical instrument.

On Saturday 17th July, we will be holding a free open day for children and families. Two identical sessions will take place from 10am-12pm and 2-4pm at the Holy Name Church, 399 Oxford Road, M13 9PG for children and parents to meet our music teachers, try out an instrument and find out more. Get a ticket for your family from our Eventbrite page.

To apply for a place for your child, please complete the form below and email it to info@olympiasmusicfoundation.com by midnight on Friday 23rd July. Alternatively, you can use our online form here.
